Beach Dazed
Part 1

(September, October 2021)

Yerba Buena Cannabis (1111 College St, Toronto ON)

Originally was windows that the client turned into six 49” wide by 74” tall, both walls were 12’3”

Medium: Behr interior paint, mixed with liquified heavy body acrylics, airbrushing

This project just like the first time working with the Yerba Buena Cannabis team, was a blast! Again I was given my own artistic freedom to make the clients vision shine through my work. The client wanted to take the northern style of the first location, down to the beaches of Southern California. He really wanted the guests to come in and feel as if they were down South! The theme of the store totally shows the feeling of warmth and positive vibes!

This project was especially interesting on my part to see it start from a white bland coffee store, turn into a vibrant cohesive cannabis store  that works perfectly to the clients needs and visions. I worked hand and hand with the business' contractor,  @hammer.strike. We worked together on creating a store that fit the clients exact needs. Hammer Strike worked on the Tiki Bar, the Volkswagen Bus, Surf board and all the building of the interior. My role was just to add some colour on the walls!

Approx. 7ft tall by 13ft

Medium: Behr interior paint, mixed with liquified heavy body acrylics, airbrushing

This part of the project was my favourite to design! I love designing my flowers, and working with fonts is definitely my favored combination, when creating a design to showcase the store logo and brand. Working again with flowers native to California but this time flowers that are more common to grow in the southern regions! I wanted to make the pieces in the store work well together as if the camera zoomed into the beach sky, and showcase a the store logo. making it fit cohesively is definitely more ascetically pleasing to the viewer!

Yerba Buena Cannabis (1111 College St, Toronto ON)

Exterior front wall

Medium: Behr Exterior paint, Brushes and rollers

This is where I started the project actually! Luckily I started the outside before the weather started getting cold. This was a fun one to design as well! (like most of my projects are!)

I wanted to design something that really felt like the 70's vibe. The client wanted something bright and to stay within the colours of the themed store. The pastel colours really worked well with the Southern California vibes. The bold letter also makes it very easy to see along side the vibrant lines. I do think it works perfectly with the exterior colours and the logo window. Driving down Dufferin street you will NOT miss this vibrant corner store!
